Source

The material offered as the basis for a statement.

Scope

Editorial guidance for English-language marketing teams. Examples are illustrative, not measured results. No citation, ranking, traffic, or revenue outcome is guaranteed.

Meaning

A source is the material you use to support or contextualize a claim. A primary source directly describes the relevant method, result, event, or product behavior. A secondary source interprets other material. The right source depends on the claim you are making.

Review the fit

For a platform requirement, inspect the provider’s current documentation. For a study result, read the research and its limitations. For a product capability, check the named version. Topic overlap alone does not establish support.

Common mistake

Adding an authoritative-looking link that never supports the sentence beside it. A good source relationship should survive the question: “Which passage establishes this, and with what limits?”

Sources

Read the original material. A source link is not, by itself, proof of a claim.
