Scope

Editorial guidance for English-language marketing teams. Examples are illustrative, not measured results. No citation, ranking, traffic, or revenue outcome is guaranteed.

Meaning

An entity is a thing being described. In editorial work, the important task is distinguishing that thing from similarly named things. A company and its product are related entities, not automatically the same subject.

Example

An illustrative company, Northline Studio, maintains Northline Stock. A reader should be able to tell whether a page describes the organization, the application, or a specific edition. Consistent names and explicit relationships reduce ambiguity for a person reading the page.

Common mistake

Assuming that repeating a name or adding markup establishes authority. Describing an entity accurately does not prove product quality, independent recognition, or inclusion in a model’s internal representation.
